Cyanotypes
Clouds (2022)
The photos below are cyanotypes created using digital images of clouds. Inspired by the early pandemic experience of feeling trapped in our isolation, I hoped to capture a feeling of openness and freeness that I experienced when embracing re-entering the public sphere. The process of collecting these images included going through my personal photo archive as well as taking many walks on sunny days in Portland, Oregon to capture interesting cloud formations. The images were then printed as negative transparencies before undergoing the cyanotype process to create the final images.
I created prints of these images on paper as well as on fabric to create the artwork Cloud Cover.
